At Antaeus Ultralift, our Cable Barrier, Trenching, and Survey services are crucial for the safe, reliable, and efficient installation of subsea cables across the offshore energy, telecommunications, and marine infrastructure sectors. We deliver comprehensive solutions covering the entire lifecycle of cable installation—from initial route surveys and environmental assessments to burial protection strategies and post-installation monitoring. These services are executed in collaboration with internationally recognized supporting companies, enabling us to provide world-class quality, global standards compliance, and operational excellence in every project.
Our process begins with a detailed Survey of Cable Routes, utilizing advanced geophysical and geotechnical techniques to analyze seabed topography, sediment composition, and potential obstructions. These surveys are conducted using cutting-edge equipment such as multi-beam echo sounders, side-scan sonar, magnetometers, and ROV-mounted tools. Working alongside globally trusted survey partners, we ensure data accuracy and integrity, forming the basis for effective project planning and risk mitigation.
Following route identification, Antaeus Ultralift leads the planning and execution of Cable Barrier installation and Trenching operations. These are designed to protect the cable from environmental threats, human activities (such as trawling and anchoring), and natural seabed movement. We deploy sophisticated trenching equipment—including mechanical trenchers, jetting systems, and cable ploughs—sourced and operated in collaboration with internationally certified equipment manufacturers and operators. This ensures high-performance trenching and burial solutions across a range of seabed conditions, including complex or ultra-deepwater terrains.
To ensure optimal burial depth and long-term protection, we perform detailed Cable Burial Risk Assessments (CBRA). These risk-based studies, conducted in alignment with DNV, ISO, and other global standards, evaluate environmental loads, seabed conditions, external aggression, and operational threats. In addition, we carry out BAS (Burying and Anchoring Studies) to determine the effectiveness of burial techniques and potential anchoring strategies, ensuring cables remain stable and secure throughout their service life. Both CBRA and BAS studies are developed with technical input and validation from internationally recognized subject matter experts and classification bodies, enhancing the credibility and reliability of our methodologies.
Antaeus Ultralift also offers precise Cable Micro Routing—a specialized process that refines the preliminary cable route based on high-resolution survey data. This approach allows us to avoid known hazards, existing infrastructure (such as pipelines and telecom cables), and environmentally sensitive areas. Our engineers collaborate with leading GIS analysts and environmental consultants to develop optimized micro routes that reduce material costs, installation time, and environmental impact, while improving the overall integrity and resilience of the cable system.
All our services are delivered in strict compliance with international health, safety, and environmental standards, supported by our Safety Management System (SMS) and Integrated Management System (IMS). These systems govern all aspects of offshore operations—from risk assessment and emergency response to documentation control and quality assurance. Project execution is further supported by our strong network of global partners, including marine contractors, classification societies, and specialist service providers, ensuring the highest levels of project reliability and regulatory compliance.
Antaeus Ultralift’s expertise is reinforced through strategic collaborations with internationally recognized supporting companies, which bring additional depth, innovation, and resources to our operations. These partnerships allow us to expand our capabilities, access the latest technologies, and mobilize globally proven best practices in cable installation, protection, and monitoring. Whether in shallow coastal waters or ultra-deep subsea environments, our joint delivery models ensure that every project meets international benchmarks for performance, safety, and sustainability.
By integrating route survey, cable burial engineering, and protection strategies under a unified delivery model—enhanced by collaboration with global industry leaders—Antaeus Ultralift delivers turnkey subsea cable solutions with precision, integrity, and confidence. From project conception through execution and lifecycle support, we ensure that every cable route is intelligently planned, thoroughly protected, and ready to support the future of offshore infrastructure.
